Working in collaboration with a rotating cast of backup players, San Francisco-based songwriter Andy Cabic started playing and recording albums under the name Vetiver in the early 2000s, slowly shifting from roots in the woodsy, mellow indie folk scene toward more breezy soft rock territory as the project rolled on. Sixth album Complete Strangers expands on the yacht rock tendencies of its 2011 predecessor, The Errant Charm, as well as seeing an integration of more electronic elements. The album was recorded once again with help from engineer Thom Monahan, who has served as co-producer on every Vetiver album up until this point. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
