The first tracks come from the Beale Street Boys, a duo comprising Cannon and vocalist/banjoist Hosea Woods, and are followed by a handful of solo harmonica recordings by Lewis; despite their extracurricular activities, by the time all three come together as Cannon's Jug Stompers they're in peak form, shifting easily from the ribald "Tired Chicken" to the plaintive "Going to Germany."
