Animals. The wild animals of Australia all belong to the Australian Region, and have already been described. (Page 76.) The common domestic animals of Europe have been extensively introduced and are of great importance. Rabbits, which were first brought into the commonwealth for pets and for food, have run wild and have so increased in numbers 553. The towering peaks of the Australian Alps, with a portion of the broad interior plain. that they give considerable trouble to the holders of the large sheep runs. People. The native people of Australia belong to the black race and are among the most primitive people in the world. They United Stain. United Statu. The World.
