American Leadership in WWII
While Franklin D. Roosevelt's priority was to overcome
the threat of the Nazi's in Europe the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was the strategic mistake of the Axis. It allowed pulling together all of the disparate political
elements in the United States to form the greatest war machine in history. Larrabee relates how Roosevelt led, convinced and bribed generals, admirals, captains of industry to work the chain of command to win the war spanning two oceans. Some of the details of who was who, especially at the beginning may get a little tedious but the insights are rewarding.
