"To tell the truth, Roberson, the way you've got it now--the things all jumbled together in a heap like that--it looks a good deal like nine-pins after the first ball has cracked into 'em." "No? does it though? Why, I do believe you're right, Mauve. I've been thinking myself that perhaps the composition was too scattery. And yet I think there's a good effect in the way that they rise gradually from this one turnip here on the left to the roses on the right.
