A decent collection of house/club/dance music circa 1995. The album features a couple of short-lived (perhaps too long-lived, in some cases) phenomena. Scatman John's vocal virtuoso track opens up the album, followed by some lightweight dance fodder. The lightweight mood is broken mildly by the appearance of Los Del Rio and the "Macarena." Keep in mind that at the release of this album, the "Macarena" had yet to storm the nation -- that had a year to go yet. Following this is another great pile of dance tracks, highlighted by a disco-fied cover of Kiss' "I Was Made for Lovin You." One somewhat surprising disappointment here is that the tracks aren't mixed to blend seamlessly into one another, as any good party/dance album would do. Despite this extremely minor item, the album isn't actually all that bad, especially if seen in the light that it predated the overplay of the "Macarena" and the song couldn't yet induce vomiting in the masses. ~ Adam Greenberg, Rovi
