The Progressive Form, expresses the action as going on;--as, i" am writing. You had been writing. 2nd. The Emphatic Form, which takes do, or did, before a Verb in the Infinitive;--as, / do write. I did write. 3rd. The Interrogative Form, which takes do or did before the Nominative;--as, Do I write1 Did they write1 Or, an Auxiliary before the Nominative;--as, Am I writing? Shall they write? 4th. The Negative Form, which takes not, between the Nominative and the Verb, and do or did before the not;--as, I do not write. They did not write. How to Conjugate according to these Four Forms, the Verb, --To Tease. The Progressive Form.--Indicative Mood. Observe: The young Student can, for himself pursue this through all the other Moods and Tenses. Observe: The young Student can readily put the Emtphatie.Form into the Imperative Mood. The Emphatic Form has no Future Tense, and there is no Emphatic Form for the Infinitive, nor for the Potential Mood. The Interrogative Form--Indicative Mood. Observe: The Student can readily follow this through the rest of the Tenses of this Mood. The old Form of the Interrogative had the Verb first: --as, Tease you? Ask me for food? Say they I am old?
