Ciao, Professore! is an amusing tale of a misplaced teacher in the world social dejection. This movie uses both witty and bawdy comedy to tell the story of the urbane teacher and his third grade students. Most of the students (along with their families) feel that education is secondary to earning a living for their family. Using street smarts, the students eventually teach the teacher that there is more to life than books, while he teaches them that respect for themselves and others, along with an education will take them to a world away from which they find themselves stuck.
I laughed at this movie through its entirety, and I don't even like comedies. As far a foreign films go, this is one of my favorites. It is easy to understand, and appeals to even the most jocular of spectators.
