Nothing of the kind is necessary, how ever, for the fact is patent to every one that concrete religion means more in the world to-day than it has meant for many generations, and that the interest in church building has ex tended far beyond the architectural profession and has now come to include, in a very special and unusual way, clergy and laity alike. Nor is this interest either technical or archaeologi cal: it is not even wholly aesthetic; it is rather a showing forth of a deeper consciousness of the eternal and indispensable na ture of the Christian religion itself, of the part it must play in the building up of a new civilization, and of the fact that if it is to do this, it must be, in a measure at least, through the agency of a sane and beautiful art. While it is certainly laudable to OCR and reprint some books, it certainly does not apply to architecture books. Unfortunately, this is the case. I had to download a PDF copy (provided by the publisher with the book's barcode as a login number) and print it in order to understand what it was about. I would rather have just bought the digital rights to the PDF copy instead, as the printed one I waited two months to arrive is simply useless.
Don't buy it.
