The share of various renewable energy sources (RES) based power plants amount to 31692.14 MW, which is just 12.25% of the total installed capacity. Primarily wind power dominates the RES-based power generation systems (PGS) and as of 31st January 2015, it accounts for 21151.36 MW, i.e. 8.17% of India's total installed power capacity, and it generates 1.6% of the country's power (Central Electric Authority (CEA), India)
