Again, as I wrote about a different book on the religion, I wanted an clinical examination of the Catholic faith and got a cheer book. The text was dedicated to affirming and defending Catholic dogma while I wanted a neutral description to form my own views.

Great book, great service!
I am a cradle Catholic and I think this book is great. It is a much lighter read than the Catechism of the Church. The book was in great condition and it was sent quickly and in great shape. I highly recommend this book and this seller! A+++

Super for Both Cradle Catholics & Converts
Catholicism for Dummies" provides the "real scoop" on all of the stuff you need to know about "Why we are Catholic". It walks you through the Profession of Faith (what do all of the words in that mean in today's world), the Sacraments (what the faithful do AFTER the day you receive the Sacrament), the Saints, the history of the Church, etc.
But, most importantly, it is about being a Catholic Today. The author is not timid about addressing hot-button and controversial topics such as Abortion, Homosexuality, Adultery, etc. He tells you what the Ten Commandments mean to us today.
My hubby & I facilitate a class called "Why Catholic". It is part of the RENEW program, and we use a Workbook, the Catechism, and the Bible as our primary references. But, "Catholicism for Dummies" helps us immensely in putting together a Lesson that is interesting and challenging. Our group size has doubled in a year, due to the popularity of the material. All the credit goes to this book.
SUMMARY: It's a great book -- we have read it cover-to-cover, and we are both Cradle Catholics. We found out that truly we knew hardly anything about being Catholic. We thought the Catholic religion was all just strict outdated rules, but this book really shakes it all out for you.
