French and other European Schools was held in 1909. That Ex hibition represented fairly the character of the private selections in the possession of citizens of Toronto at that date. The present Exhibition is intended to be similarly rep esentative of such collections at the present time. It is not intended to be representative of any group of schools of painting. It comprises exclusively works of art not exhibited at the former Exhibition and consists for the most part of works acquired during the past ten years.
