Children who face the passing of a loved one, especially a parent or grandparent experience very serious challenges that some families must face. Kids manifest grief in a variety of ways and emotions, withdrawing from family and friends, crying, depression, failing at school, not eating, over-eating and even anger. Parents, in those times, when you just can't seem to find the right words to say or things to do to help the child that you love move forward, there is help in the healing process. I know firsthand how grief takes hold of you and you just can't seem to shake it no matter how hard you try. When my own mother passed in 2019, it took some time for me to be my normal self again, but with the assistance of friends, family, loved ones and professionals, slowly but surely I made it back.
