Capture the Moon tries to use the equation for Newton's law of Gravity to explain what we see on earth and to explain the motions of the moon. The equation for Newton' Law of Gravity appears to be calculating bad numbers. Capture the Moon will make an argument that gravity decreases as the cube of the distance between the two masses increases. If gravity does have a inverse cube relationship with the distance between the two masses, then you can capture the moon, without colliding with the moon first. Newton's Law of ...

Newton's Law of Gravity at present has gravity with an inverse square relationship with the distance between the two masses. The people of planet earth need to know for sure how the gravitational field decays with distance. This could be important for earthquake prediction or deflecting an earth bound asteroid or meteor. The whole purpose of this book is to make Newton's Law of Gravity more useful.
