Welcome to Capacitor Basics! This is a nonfiction science book which contains various topics on basics of Capacitor. A capacitor is a two-terminal electrical device which uses an electric charge to store energy. It is made up of two electrical conductors separated by a distance. The space between the conductors can be filled with a vacuum or a dielectric, which is an insulating material. Capacitance refers to the capacitor's ability to store charges. Capacitors store energy by keeping opposing charges apart. A parallel plate capacitor is the most basic type of capacitor, consisting of two metal plates with a gap between them. Capacitors come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, lengths, girths, and materials. The ratio of a system's change in electric charge to the corresponding change in its electric potential is known as capacitance. The capacitance of any capacitor can be either fixed or variable, depending on its usage. Apart from charge and voltage, capacitance also depends on the shape and size of the capacitor and also on the insulator used between the conducting plates. Capacitors are used for storing energy, power conditioning and signal processing. This is the first edition of the book. Thanks for reading the book.
