Hence the Author of 'columbus at Seville' is on his defence; he can scarcely be unconscious how, without explanation, he might be accused of paraphrase or, at least, of reverberation anyone who takes the trouble to examine will grant this. Another distinction should be pointed to - namely, in characterization - of which, if the unanimous testimony of biographers is to be believed, there can scarcely be two Opinions.' The coincidence of current events with the publication of a record of The Alexandrine War' is noticeable.
