That said, this disc offers an enjoyable hour of music drawn from the lighter side of C.P.E. Bach's output, and at a budget price it's attractive for any collection of music from the early Classical period. These highly melodic concertos bear no trace of C.P.E.'s encounter with the aesthetic movement known as Sturm und Drang; they are in the pure galant style, with bouncy outer movements and lovely slow movements built around a long melody.
