Book is replete with maps, illustrations and tables, including two foldout illustrations. Boards are lightly soiled with two small bubbles to cloth due to water drops and mild wear with fraying to head/tail of spine and corners, corners lightly bumped as well. Only a third of the front free endpaper remains. Interior pages are toned and there is a damp stain on the edge of the C.H. Northham steamer foldout. Hardcover.

Small, pocket sized, format HC in publisher's pebbled terra cotta colored cloth. Binding sound and contents clean. Prior ownership in manuscript to front endpage; text unmarked. This is the preferred, substantially revised edition, with the additional folding plates of the Mill River Diaster and the pictorial folding plate at rear of the New Haven Line steamer, "C. H. Northam." Burt's extensive travel guide by rail through the Connecticut Valley. With numerous engraved illustrations, many homorous in character by Palmer Cox. Cloth rubbed and a little frayed at corners; lightly frayed at spine ends with a short closed tear to the cloth at the crown. Page stock with expected light uniform tanning; several signatures starting slightly at front edge. All 3 folding plates are in VG condition; map at front and pictorial ad for the New England Line are both very well preserved. The plate for the Mill River Disaster is lightly furred along the lower edge. A bit worn and rubbed to externals but sound and still attractive. G+ to VG-
