Have you ever had that moment where you realize that work and money seem to be the priority and not so much family or even having a life? Do you keep working past exhaustion because of fear? Do you fear getting behind on bills, debt, or a mortgage that is painfully large? This is a common life for most people. Mortgages and rents are too high, wallets are filled with credit cards that are maxed out. The commutes are long and work hours bleed into weekends leaving little time for relationships or basic sleep. This is no way to live. It is not living at all. This book was written after I was heavily influenced by a few books on everything from work priorities to extreme poverty. I began to realize that my husband and I worked too hard and were missing out on our two boys' short childhood. We were burnt out and not having any fun. I decided to whittle the work way down, simplify our lives, home, chores, even cooking. I desire a slow and simple life. I returned my focus to nurturing our home life and being a mother that is present in the here and now. I feel it is possible for everyone, but you may need to downsize and open your mind to another lifestyle. What is most important to you? How much of your life do you want back? Would you be willing to live on a small budget, maybe be a little broke, to have more time for your children or a dream?
