In Anatomy little should be taken for granted that cannot be made manifest to observation; while, in Physiology, we are not called up on to believe any thing that does not follow as an obvious and reasonable result of demonstrable facts. Like the Geographer who goes forth to study the seas, the rivers and the mountains of the earth, so do we search into the varied and multiform tissues of the human body, - so wise ly constructed, so harmoniously blended, and so mutely eloquent of the hand that made them.
