Seller's Description:
Near Fine in Very Good jacket. First edition. Edited with biographical notes and comment by Elmer Adler. Tall octavo. x, 196pp. Illustrated with facsimiles. Foredge and bottom edge of the textblock lightly foxed and just a bit of toning on the pastedowns, very near fine in a dust jacket tanned on the rear panel with a tiny abrasion on the spine title that would be just about near fine save that it hass been nibbled along the lower flap fold (mostly light abrading) and top of the lower flap (shallow loss). Otherwise such a nice copy that it is still quite presentable. Publisher's postcard laid in. A nicely-produced book that prints the origin stories (so to speak) of Sherwood Anderson, Stephen Vincent Benet, Pearl Buck, Theodore Dreiser, Carl Van Vechten, Robinson Jeffers, Rockwell Kent, Sinclair Lewis, H. L. Mencken, Christopher Morley, Edward Arlington Robinson, and Edith Wharton, among others.
