Seller's Description:
Good in Very Good jacket. Book. Inscribed by the Author [SIGNED] Inscribed by both the author, Michel Dufet, and daughter of the artist, Rhodia Dufet Bourdelle, to Dallas collector and entrepreneur Harlan Crow, a portion of whose significant collection of Bourdelle's bronze castings continue to be on public display surrounding Crow's father's Dallas museum, the Trammel and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art. The dustjacket is worn, with some closed tears and chips to the extremities, though now protected in a Mylar cover. Binding is solid, with only mild shelfwear to the edges of the boards. An interesting Texas association for a monumental French artist. Bound in blue cloth with bright gold stamping on cover and spine, this large format monograph on the French sculptor is lavishly illustrated with hundreds of dramatically lush full page black and white images of his robust and powerful artworks, photographically captured at their dramatic peak by the photographer Carol Marc Lavriller. Discreet texts in French by Michel Dufet, son in law of the artist, and co-founder with his wife, of the Bourdelle Garden Museum in Egreville, France.
