A book should inspire, build up, instruct, or entertain, and it should be positive about how it does this. After reading for just a little while, I felt like I needed a bath. It polluted my mind. For me, this book was a waste of time. I threw it away without mentioning it to anyone. I regret buying the book.

Pretty Damn Funny
Clearly a period piece [it was written in 1969 by people my age - currently in their sixties, college students then], it's a very funny send-off on The Lord of the Rings - in fact, very point-for-point like the actual book. It's not too long, and about as long as it should be, since the style - use of hilarious send-off names like Goodgulf instead of Gandalf, Frito instead of Frodo, Dildo instead of Bilbo, etc., and deprecating references - would wear thin if it were much longer. Many of the names used - like the Riders of Roi-Tan - refer to long-dead product brand names, so it's a bit funnier if you're past sixty and remember them. I'd been spoiling to read it for nearly 40 years and finally took the time, courtesy of Alibris. Glad I read it - it was good for many chuckles. If you like cornball satire, you'll love it!
