A discount compilation of John Lee Hooker's best known works. One extremely notable omission here, however, would be "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." A discount compilation of John Lee Hooker's best known works. One extremely notable omission here, however, would be "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." Aside from that deficiency, the album is actually stunningly complete, and the sound quality is quite good, given the age of many of Hooker's best recordings (his voice wasn't too far gone whenever these ones were recorded, so they must have some age to them). "Dimples," "Boom Boom," and "Boogie Chillen" are all present, and those are really quite probably the most essential recordings ever made by Hooker (if not in blues in general). To top it off, there's a rendition of a spiritual, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken."
