Seller's Description:
Small 8vo. Grey cloth with black lettering and black and orange pictorial stamping, pictorial dust jacket. 248pp, (4pp ads). Color frontispiece, 2 full-page plates. Good plus/good plus. Binding a bit edgeworn and lightly soiled, with a few stray marks; some small stains to outer page edges; ownership name/address on front pastedown; jacket rather edgeworn, with tiny chips at corners and at spine head/tail. A tight and decent apparent first edition of the first title in the 7-volume "Bob Dexter Mystery Series" (1925-33). Like many series, it began with the first three titles published simultaneously, so copyright page list shows this trio, as does the ad at rear. Though worn as described, this is a scarce "first of the first" and the usually-absent dust jacket is present and fairly attractive.
