The title track, originally from 30 Something, heaps more bile than could be imagined on the British Army for racism in the ranks; the endless puns may seem to obscure the issue, but the anger and empathy rips through nonetheless. The remaining tracks cover typical Carter country in their own way. "2001: A Clockwork Orange" mixes one of the band's trademark megablast guitar/synth numbers with random samples of kids talking about what they'd like to be when they grow up -- at once funny and a bit depressing. Two covers round out the collection: a fierce revamp of Soft Cell's "Bedsitter," the urban loneliness of which fits Carter's mindset to a T, and the Monkees nugget "Alternate Title," the actual title of which is referenced in the accompanying instrumental "Randy Sarf Git." ~ Ned Raggett, Rovi Read Less
