I ordered the CD because I wrote a paper on this symphony. The work is full of quotations from American folk song, and it sometimes get out of hand. There are some truly beautiful moments. However, if you are interested in Bloch's music I would not recommend this piece. I would suggest "Schelomo" or the Viola Suite or the "Sacred Service."
