Tough day for the 8th Army Air Force
Martin Caidin gives a very up close and gripping tale of the war in the air over Germany. His story about mission 115 on Oct. 14, 1943 shows the savage nature of the bombing campaign against Germany. The story flows easily and yet makes it clear how tough it was. The stories about individual men and planes on both sides of the conflict are woven into the narrative smoothly. A must read for any student of the Second World War.
