Heyer is the the queen of dialog, her wit is unmatched.

delightfully funny Regency romance
Sent it to my (Harvard-educated) sister, and she says she "devoured" it (her word) in one day. It's a usual Heyer regency novel: demurely funny in best British style, with an interesting romantic plot, and a lightness that is never shallowness and which is always undergirded by serious historical research. A very skilful author, underrated perhaps by many, and truly not like anyone else.

One of her Best
As always the interesting plot line, the excellence of her dialogue and the perfection of her characterizations make this one of her best books. Ms. Heyer's heroines become more interesting and her heroes more genuine in her later books. She found her audience and can still enthrall them.

Nothing is better than a cup of tea and an afternoon reading a Georgette Heyer like this one!

Another High Quality Out of Print Heyer
This is the second Heyer I've purchased from Alibris and I was extremely pleased with both. This was an early edition HB with an intact dust jacket in very good condition. It looked like it was brand new! It was especially nice to have a plastic cover included -- something I've never gotten with eBay purchases. The content of the book was a bit disappointing.....it read like an early draft of "Lady of Quality"....but still enjoyable. Thanks to Albris for helping me complete my collection with this difficult to find title.
