This book was all that I hoped it would be. The author took one page for each image. He presented the images chronologically. He did not pretend he could cover everything but he he did provide images not only from the United States but from other countries as well. This offered an important perspective and reflected the colonialism of the different times. I learned a great deal from the book and was left with much to think about. This is a vivid example of an historical approach that absorbs one emotionally as well as intellectually.
