Photographs are striking but the content was less than I'd hoped.
The planetary boundaries framework is very appealing but in trying to sell it they've stripped out too much. Also, I was looking for a better understanding of some of the severe but less known environmental crises -- e.g. nitrogen-related but while suggesting they are more dire than climate change, they spend almost no time describing them. I think the underlying paper in Nature is much better for understanding the framework and issues and Doughnut Economics sounds more promising as a popular introduction (though, I haven't read it yet).
