The collection at hand may be of only limited interest to those who admired Dorsey's more adventurous side, for there is a focus on his pop sides -- lots of Bob Eberly ("My Prayer," "Maria Elena," etc.) and Helen O'Connell, Ray McKinley, and June Richmond. Some of this is fun ("Six Lessons From Madame La Zonga," by O'Connell), but there are only five instrumentals present, including "Contrasts." On the other hand, the sound is mildly Cedar-ized and doesn't suffer for it. Indeed, the clarity, fidelity, and richness of tone are most impressive, and one only wishes that the programming were a little more weighted toward Dorsey's instrumentals...although fans of his romantic pop sound will be pleased. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
