Is the Quran a continuation of the Bible? Was Mohammed prophesied to come? Does the Quran acknowledge Jesus as the Christ? Can salvation come through Islam according to the Bible? As serious students of the Word of God, we want to also respect people of other faiths, even though we must agree to disagree. This study is simply a comparison between the Bible and the Quran. It is an effort to answer those who think that all religions are the same, and we somehow worship the same God. In all honesty, the more we study into the various literature and scriptures, the more we must admit that it is not the case. While the author respect people of other faiths, and even has friends who are in other faiths, the scriptures are set in black and white, and there are differences. This book simply strives to demonstrate these differences and seeks to show those who carelessly think that all faiths are the same that there are discrepancies that can lead to breakups of friendships, marriages, and even communities. Radicalizing can even lead to internal terrorizing. It is better to know and live in peace with each other with knowledge of these differences than to blunder carelessly into relationships that could lead to serious problems for many families. The following chapters are provided: Where did the Quran come from? How was it formed? The origin of the Quaran is very different from the Bible in many ways. These differences are discussed in chapter one. In what way would we test a prophet? The Bible has several instructions on how to assess whether someone is a prophet from God. The linage of Mohammed is discussed. The story from the Bible runs through Ishmael, Esau, and the Arab nations. Understanding these leads to better comprehension. Many people may be surprised to know that the Quran does not acknowledge the Crucifixion or resurrection of Jesus Christ. Chapter four discusses this in more detail, as it is a big issue when the differences between Christianity and Islam are discussed. Recent history and ongoing conflict between these faiths are made clear. It is quite understandable when such issues reach the main world news. Chapter five list all the differences between the faiths. The question is asked whether coexistence is possible considering these serious differences in faith, understandings about the God we worship, and lifestyle differences, which inadvertently can lead to serious conflict. Among those discussed are ways of worship, places of worship, manner of spreading religion, marriage, supreme Sacrifice of Christ, prophecies, proof of divine origins, which laws and the God worshiped. A clear understanding will help people to avoid conflict.
