An excellent book, following in the footsteps of the author as he treks the Appian Way in Italy. Experiencing the joys & woes of being a solitary walker in early sixties Italy. Lister imbues his book with every emotion and experience he encounters including the diverse range of people he encounters on his hike, the baking heat or cooling waters in a river.
Well worth a read, or giving as a gift, which I've done so several times.
