My old faithful
This offering from twins Veena and Neena Bidasha is a good, solid cardio workout that makes efficient use of all its thirty minutes. It's great for mornings when time is of the essence. The warmup is short but safe, getting the heart rate up fairly quickly. I've been doing this DVD for a few years and I still feel tired afterwards, and still break a sweat. The cooldown really does a good job of allowing the heart to climb down out of one's mouth before the end, and the stretches target the most used muscle groups.
This is a great choice for people who have at least a beginning idea of how to do these moves safely and correctly. There is not much time devoted to instruction, since this is a fast moving cardio workout, and it is assumed that the user has a foundation of muscle contraction / isolation. "Slim Down" is much more effective if the moves originate in the correct muscles, rather than from an attempt to imitate what it "looks" like the twins are doing. Sometimes what looks like wild wiggling is in fact a very specific and rapid muscle isolation, so it is much more beneficial, and much better a workout, if the user starts with a more basic introduction to belly dance that stresses muscle use and isolation.
