A fun-to-read children's story, this colourful book recreates the magic of being in a museum This is an imaginative read aloud book for children which tells the story of a painted butterfly named Belle who usually lives in a painting at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. She desperately wants to visit her Grandma whose home is a painting in the collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Belle hatches a plan to get to Cleveland, but once there, she realizes she has no idea where to look for her Grandma; so she hitches a ride with a taxi driver named Red, who normally resides in Cleveland's Red Grooms sculpture, Looking Along Broadway Towards Grace Church. Mayhem ensues as Belle discovers that Red might think he knows where to go, but he has no idea about routes or directions. The butterfly and the cabbie embark on a fast-paced, wild ride through numerous works of art in the museum's collection, searching for Grandma in the midst of this artful adventure. AUTHOR: Mary Lee Corlett is an art historian and research associate at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. Her first book about Belle, 'Belle: The Amazing, Astonishingly Magical Journey of an Artfully Painted Lady' was published in 2011. Sophie Cayless is a freelance illustrator. A member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, she is the author and illustrator of 'Sophie's Stuff' (2012).
