Seller's Description:
Very Good in Very Good jacket. 8vo. 311pp, index, chronology, biographical notes. Or brown boards in jacket. A few dark spots on fore-edge, otherwise excellent. Caroline Ethel Coper was born in Adelaide in 1871. She had been living in Leipzig for several years wehn war broke out in 1914. She was in the habit of writing to her sister in Adelaide once a week. Although she knew she would not be able to mail her wartime letters until the end of hostilities, and although by keeping them she placed herself in considerasble danger, they were her one link with the outside world, and she continued to write them for the next 4 1/2 years. They form a fascinating account of WWI in Germany.
