Battlestar Galactica is the novelization of the original 1978-1979 pilot and television series of the same name. The book is also an epic science fiction story portraying the long conflict between the freedom-loving humans and the orderly and austere Cylons. The premise of the story is that the humans on Earth are descendants of the humans who are battling the Cylons. Moreover, the humans in the book are looking for the legendary planet called Earth and, in so doing, are hoping to find both a refuge and an ally in the age-old conflict against the Cylons. The major characters are Apollo, Starbuck (both are pilots), Boomer, Commander Adama, Colonel Tigh, Athena, Serina, Cassiopeia, Boxey, and the Imperious Leader of the Cylons. I did enjoy this adventurous book a great deal and I look forward to reading more books in the series and/or watching past episodes via audio-visual media.
