Although there are some extraneous background noises on this recording that may distract, there is nothing in the performance itself to discredit the players. While the Three Village Scenes is a brief diversion and not a major work, Boulez and the orchestra give it a high level of energy, and the women of the Camerata Singers lend their choral parts a convincing folk vigor.
