W hen a community lacks leadership, has no character, personality, imagination, creativity, passion, or energy, and lacks a spirit of collective family compassion, you allow the beast to exploit the void. Like vampires, they come and suck the blood out of the village with ease, starting first by manipulating the jibaro in us, working on our decency, trust, and innocence.
