I loved this cookbook right from the start. The beautiful photographs of simple food are enough to keep me turning the pages. The recipes are really easy to follow, and turn out as expected. My favorites are the homemade naan bread and the love goddess cake, which has become my husbands request for his birthday every year. He also has a good pasta dough recipe that I have used many times, and wonderful recipes for comfort foods that do not disappoint. This is also a very soulful book, with the authors own thoughts on food and why it is so important, how it brings us together. This book always inspires me to spend time in my kitchen, and reminds me of the family meals we had when I was a child, when life was so much simpler!! A very satisfying book, both to look at and to cook from.
