Yes, the Third Sex has much more of a pop edge than Sleater-Kinney -- the melodies are brighter, and the guitars tend more toward jangle than scratchy riffing -- but the band's general orientation seems a bit too much in line with this general vein of Northwestern rock to come across as anything more than second-string.
