This recital of Bach and Handel with the early music group Pygmalion, however, marks a step forward for this emerging singer. In the two Bach cantatas, to borrow a phrase from John le Carré, she speaks the German language with its boldness, and she delivers emotive performances of both the grim Mein Herze schwimmt in Blut, BWV 199, and the triumphal hit Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, BWV 51.
