Chapters on surgical principles andinstrumentation, biomaterials, arthroscopy and postoperativemanagement address the general issues encountered in joint surgery.Chapters focussed on each of the major synovial joints, includingthe temporomandibular joint, then follow. Each of thesejoint-specific chapters deals with basic anatomy and surgicalapproaches, before describing the conditions that affect theparticular joint. Common surgical procedures on joints are described with the use ofOperative Techniques. Possible pitfalls and key points arehighlighted, so as to make maximum use of the experience of theinternational panel of authors.
