A sound copy of this important account. If anyone had ever watched the holocaust movie "The Grey Zone" this is the book that movie was based on and which was written by the doctor shown in the movie. If you enjoyed the movie then by all means please read this book as it is much more detailed and some of the scene in the movie were changed from what really happened so it's interesting to see the real story.
If you haven't seen the movie then I recommend this book as it is a very detailed account of what happened in the gas chambers and crematoriums by one of the very few who were there and survived as the entire sonder-kommando was killed and replaced every 4 months.

A Very Good Account of Life in Auschwitz
I am still reading this book. It is well written and I believe that the author was as honest and frank as he could be, considering that he was a Jewish pathologist who willingly worked under Mengele, the Nazi doctor who did extensive experiments on harmless human subjects. However, if Dr. Miklos had not worked for Mengele, he and his family would have almost certainly not survived the war. I ordered this book because I saw a little known film (with many famous actors involved) on a television channel. I thought, at first, that this was a fictional account of life in Auschwitz. While reading the book , I understand Dr. Miklos' position but I cannot agree with his choice. I will complete this book and pass it on. However the circumstances of Auschwitz and WWII are still beyond my complete comprehension or acceptance.
