As a Nuclear Physics PhD who greatly enjoyed the brilliant science books by Brian Greene (The Elegant Universe, The Fabric of the Cosmos) and Simon Singh (Big Bang) I had hoped Krauss' book would be equally illuminating. The idea of tracking the journey of an atom from the big bang to life on earth was a good one. Unfortunately Krauss, whilst a brilliant physicist and public speaker, does not have the knack of writing enthralling science books for the general public. In this book there are too many ideas poorly or not explained. Unlike the other books I have mentioned, I did not enjoy this book.
