The sun-risings and sun-settings are from distant horizons; the play of light and shade upon the hill-sides, in varying sunshine and cloud, with the green, quiet vales and hamlets between, together with here and there a rippling brook or larger stream; bowlders scattered here and there, and rocky ledges cropping out at intervals, all these features render the landscape impressively picturesque.
