While exploring a variety of materials, this study intriguingly demonstrates how Cragg's works delve into the human capacity to give internal perceptions and ideas an externally visible form. The artist's many distinct periods are illustrated, contending that their shared appeal stems from the energy released in his sculptures as well as the cryptic irony they suggest. Featuring an article penned by Cragg himself, this volume also contains a selection of scholarly essays and a revealing interview with the artist, all providing a deeper look into his accomplishments.
