The American author Julien Green (1900-1998), which had enchanted many readers, especially in the German-speaking world, created in the French language an unprecedented testimony of spirituality on the hand and the hopelessness of human existence on the other in his diary and in his autobiographically shaped narrative work. This work illuminates how Green conceptually made the phenomenon of deception the basis of the poetics. The figures dramatically gain a "realite de vision," which for them is more truthful than the gloomy world in which they live. Likewise, Green noted that the true I in its inaccessibility was only a fiction of a foreign literary world. It is truly and visibly contained within the desire for an illusion.
