A Treatise on Hate Speech
This is really a book about hate speech, using the Anders Breivik case as an example. The first five chapters are turgid academic blather, the sort of prose that is supposedly intended for fellow academics, but in fact what no one on earth ever reads. The sixth chapter, "The Weight of Words," is the only meat in the book and is a good survey of the hate speech issue.
Herz and Molnar's, "The Content and Context of Hate Speech," (Cambridge UP, 2012) costs more but is worth many times as much.
